Midsummer Thursdays Return for Another Summer of Downtown Celebration
Downtown Stony Plain is the place to be this summer! Midsummer Thursdays are returning for three evenings of family-friendly fun in the sun on Main Street.
The summer-long celebration will be hosted each month with events on June 9, July 14, and August 18. Community members can visit Main Street to participate in free family-friendly activities, explore downtown Stony Plain, and check out great deals at participating local shops.
“We are excited to be able to bring Midsummer Thursdays back this summer. We had a great turn out last year, and it was fantastic to see our community come out to explore the new downtown,” says Culture and Tourism Development Assistant Richelle Jomha. “This year’s event will include three unique nights of celebration, each with a different theme and activities. There will be food trucks, live entertainment, and plenty of fun for the whole family.”
“Being able to have local celebrations like Midsummer Thursdays is integral to fostering the Stony Plain spirit and growing local tourism. This summer series is a fantastic draw to our new downtown hub and a great opportunity for residents and visitors to come out and explore Stony Plain,” says Mayor William Choy. “I am looking forward to seeing Main Street come alive each night and I encourage everyone to come out for some summer fun!”
This year’s event includes three evenings of celebration from 5PM to 8PM each night:
- June 9, Stony in Bloom
- July 14, Focus on Wellness
- August 18, A’maize Fest
