Welcome to Midsummer Thursdays in Downtown Stony Plain! Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening of community celebration and exploration. Join us on the third Thursday of June, July, and August, from 5 PM to 8 PM, when our vibrant streets come alive with local shops, tasty restaurants and food trucks, captivating entertainment, and an array of vendor booths.

June 20, 5 PM to 8 PM 
Eats & Treats 

Plan to enjoy a mouth-watering meal and dessert at different vendors and Downtown Stony Plain restaurants! Outdoor and indoor seating is provided.

Entertainment

Ken Muzia is a Canadian country music artist-a troubadour-with a compelling story. His high clear vocals, spicy guitar leads, and magnetic personality are truly captivating. He is an accomplished musician who acquired his first music award at the age of 14, his diverse range includes country and western, rock, and high slow-simmering ballads. 

Brasstactics is Edmonton's premier brass band, delivering only the tightest jams! Serving up hot throwbacks from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's, you can't help but dance and sing along.

Songbird Rising is a performing duo of twin sisters Lily and Aven. Their music is inspired by their love of uplifting themes and groovy beats. They have developed their talents in both English and Spanish, singing children's music as well as popular songs, and even a couple of originals.

MCHS Choir is provincially-recognized, winning first place at the Alberta Music Festival in 2018!

Balloon Artist Russ can create anything out of balloons, twisting hundreds of balloon animals, cartoon characters, hats, costumes, and one-of-a-kind sculptures!

Jay Flair Magic is an award winning multidisciplinary artist, who is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat! Jay's acts make use of her experiences in life and she strives to be inclusive to all who may find themselves in her audience.

Watch for Bluey and Bingo from Marvelous Mascots roaming around the event! 

The Bees Knees Facepainting provides professional quality facepainting and glitter tattoos. She feels very lucky to have endless faces to transform, and to receive so many smiles in return!

 

Community Partners

Stony Plain Youth Centre prides itself on having provided a safe space for youth for almost 20 years! The SPYC grants youth opportunities in leadership, creative expression, and emotional support. The Centre can also be a place for youth to meet new people and have fun.

Stony Plain Public Library connects the people of our community to the knowledge and cultures of the world, and to each other. SPPL offers free library cards to access over 43,000 items in their collection, programming for all ages, and much more.

Alberta Parenting for the Future Association offers a range of programs and services that connect families, forming greater ties within the community. They work closely with community partners to collaborate on how to fill gaps in services to reduce the cost of service delivery through partnerships.

Community Futures Capital Region provides business loans, tools, mentoring, guidance, and support for rural small business owners and entrepreneurs in Alberta. Through CFCR, The YETI (Young Entrepreneurs Training Initiative) provides an annual locally-focused, high speed business training initiative for high school teens in Parkland, Brazeau, and Leduc Counties. 

Because I Love You Parent Support Group works with parents and youth to offer support and guidance to improve communication, promote structure and cooperation in the home, and achieve the goal of family preservation.

Greater Parkland Regional Visitor Information Centre serves Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County, promoting local tourism, cultural activities, regional development, and ensuring both residents and visitors have access to valuable resources and guidance. 

Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum showcases items and stories of historical interest to visitors and residents, including through tours and events.

Beth Portman is a dynamic vocalist, ukulele player, and songwriter. She presents a one-of-a-kind experience with her uplifting mix of early jazz, swing, roots, and 50's pop.

Business/Vendor Booths

Businesses and community organizations can reserve a booth on Main Street to promote themselves, sell products, interact with attendees, give samples, offer entertainment, and encourage people to connect with them. 

Booth Details

Booths are provided free of cost. All vendors on site must be pre-approved selling or solicitation of any kind is prohibited except by approved vendors.

Vendor Rules 2024

Selection Criteria 

We thank all interested booth participants. Businesses not selected to participate in an event will be placed on a waitlist to replace cancellations and for future events. Please be aware that participants that align with the following points receive booth priority.

  • Businesses located in Downtown Stony Plain
  • Stony Plain businesses 
  • Businesses selling products at the event 
  • Businesses that sponsor an attraction and/or add value to the event
