New Permanent Fire Pit and Rock Seating at Rotary Park

STONY PLAIN, AB: Rotary Park has recently completed a permanent landscaped fire pit with rock seating. This exciting addition to the park will offer year-round enjoyment for the community.

Parks and Leisure Services Supervisor Darcy Carter reflected on the success of the temporary fire ring placed in the park last winter "A temporary fire ring was introduced in Rotary Park for the winter season, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. We listened to what our residents want and are now excited to offer this new permanent feature for our community's enjoyment year-round."

"Now, residents and visitors can look forward to gathering around a welcoming fire, whether it's to warm up after a day of skating in the winter or to enjoy a summer evening. The permanent fire pit enhances our recreational offerings and fosters community connections," says Mayor William Choy.

The firepit at Rotary Park complements the park's existing amenities which include paved trails, pond and fountain, playground, picnic tables, gazebo, and more. The addition of the new firepit and rock seating ensures Rotary Park is a go-to destination for year-round fun and activities.

Residents are encouraged to bring their own firewood for burning, and firewood for the newly installed firepit will be readily available throughout the winter season, from November to March.
