Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum Present Overview of Expansion Project

Members of the Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum gave an overview of the 2023/2024 Facility Expansion Project. The Museum requires additional indoor space to showcase two new exhibits, Power in Parkland and military history. In addition, they are in need of a storage space to house a large collection of vehicles and machinery.

Edmonton Global Update Presented to Council

Edmonton Global presented an update to Council. The agency represents 14 municipalities in the Edmonton Region. The update provided an overview of Edmonton Global’s approach to economic development and investment attraction, current results, and highlighted Stony Plain’s engagement with the organization.

Administration Provides Update on Recreation Facility

Administration provided Council with an update on the recreation facility project. They have been proceeding with a detail design of the recreation facility that includes a new, 6-sheet curling facility. During Monday’s Council Meeting, Administration laid out costing for the project. Administration will complete detail design drawings and tender documents for the recreation facility, and bring a funding report back to Council before proceeding to construction.

New Stony Plain Public Library Board Appointee Announced

Kelly Eros as been appointed to the Stony Plain Public Library Board. The Stony Plain Public Library Board aims to connect people in our community to knowledge, world culture, and each other. Community members are recruited to Citizen-at-Large boards on an annual basis and as vacancies arise.

Kelly Eros will serve on the board for a one-year term.
