Town Prepares for Outdoor Pool and Spray Park Reopening for 2023

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Stony Plain Outdoor Pool opening has been delayed and is expected to be May 26. If you are looking to get out in the sun, the Rotary Spray Park is now planned to open Friday, May 19.

STONY PLAIN, AB: Get on your swimsuits! The Town is excited to announce the planned opening of the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool on May 19 at 3 p.m., and the tentative opening of the Rotary Spray Park on May 26.  

The Town of Stony Plain in partnership with the TransAlta Tri-Leisure Centre (TLC) operates the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool and Rotary Spray Park. The Outdoor Pool offers many programs such as swim lessons, public swim, toonie swim, aquafit classes, private bookings, and is home of the Sharks Swim Club.

“The opening of the Outdoor Pool is a highly anticipated day that kicks off the summer,” says Mayor William Choy. “Both the Outdoor Pool and the Rotary Spray Park bring so many residents joy over the summer months. There are plenty of wonderful opportunities and programs that the pool offers, as well as memories to be made with families and friends.”

The Stony Plain Outdoor Pool is operated by the TLC. Residents can start booking lessons, rentals, and private events through the Tri-Leisure Centre website, in-person, or over the phone 780-960-5080 ext. 0 as per the schedule below:

• May 9: Spring rentals (June 3-July 2) available online
• May 10: School rental requests due back
• June 6: Stony Plain Outdoor Pool summer lesson registration/summer pool rentals (July 8- September)
