***NEW 2026: PITCH-IN Week Changes to Team Up to Clean Up!

The Town of Stony Plain is proud to introduce Team Up to Clean Up, a brand-new program to support a cleaner, greener community. Team Up to Clean Up is a year-round event for residents, groups, schools and organizations to clean up garbage and debris in parks and public spaces, supporting the Town’s broader commitment to stewardship and a healthy environment.

This new program opens opportunities for more participants to get involved in community. Groups are now able to sign up to host clean-up events throughout the year, no longer confined to the previous spring Pitch-In Week. Funding opportunities are also available for eligible groups to support special clean up events, including the Farmers’ Day’s Parade.

More information and registration can be found on the Town website at Team Up to Clean Up.

Gather and Grow Day
Gather and Grow Day is an annual tree planting and community building event hosted by the Town to revitalize parks around Stony Plain, and help neighbours connect. Details for each year's event will be posted to the Community Calendar

If you are unable to lift the tree into the bin, please place the tree on the ground beside the bin and attendants will take care of it.

Don't Just Trash It!

Don't Just Trash It! is an ongoing waste disposal initiative aimed at promoting sustainable practices and mitigating the amount of organic and recyclable waste sent to the landfill. The campaign works to keep residents informed on waste disposal practices and communicate any changes to recycling guidelines

Follow the adventures of Smarty Pants to learn more about what goes where and how you can practice sustainable waste practices!

The Town is implementing new solar lighting along some of the trails.

In 2024, the Town of Stony Plain received grant funding from the ATCO Community Energy Fund to install two electric vehicle charging stations in town.
