Royal Canadian Legion members presented Council and Administration with a poppy during the Regular Council Meeting. Each year, approximately 18 million poppies are distributed by legionnaires, veterans, and cadets across the country. The Poppy Trust Fund provides financial assistance to ex-servicemen and women as well as their dependents.

A poppy donation box will be available at the front desk of Town Office.

The third quarterly report has been presented to Council. Throughout the year, quarterly reports are brought to Council to provide an overview of activity and accomplishments across Town departments. These reports are comprehensive reporting tools and serve as benchmarks for ongoing operations.

Quarterly reports can be viewed on the Stony Plain website.

Find more information on the quarterly report update and view the report in the Regular Council Meeting agenda package on pages 21 – 50.

Updated Naming Policy Includes Significant Names Registry Featuring Stony Plain Icons

The Town’s Naming Policy has been updated at the recommendation of Administration. Developed in 2020, the Naming Policy establishes a coordinated and consistent naming process for Stony Plain. The latest update addresses naming requests not explicitly addressed by the previous version of the policy, such as commemorative name requests.

In line with the updated policy, Administration has established a preliminary Significant Names Registry to guide future naming requests. The list features prominent names used within the community and throughout Stony Plain’s history.

The updated Naming Policy will be available on the Stony Plain website.

Find more information and view the Significant Names Registry in the Regular Council Meeting agenda package on pages 83 – 99 and 101 – 111.
