Regular Council Meeting Highlights for November 28, 2022
Fees & Charges Bylaw Annual Update
All three readings were given to update the Fees & Charges bylaw during last night’s meeting. The bylaw governs user fees and charges for the upcoming calendar year and is presented to Council for approval annually.
The updated bylaw will be available on the Stony Plain website and new rates are effective January 1, 2023. Utility rates will be communicated as an insert with the monthly utility bills in the new year.

Council Approves Shift to On-Demand Local Transit Service
Stony Plain Transit is transitioning to an on-demand service beginning January 3, 2023. Stony Plain’s transit service will integrate with Spruce Grove’s on-demand local transit service and Acheson Transit to establish a single, on-demand local transit system throughout the Tri-Municipal Region.
The new system addresses service gaps and creates more flexibility for riders by expanding service times and pick-up/drop-off locations. Riders will be able to book trips in and around Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Acheson, and Parkland Village. Once the on-demand transit service launches in January, Stony Plain Transit buses will no longer follow a fixed schedule and route and all riders will be required to book their trips.
Information on local transit services can be found on the Stony Plain website.
