The Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Program is built with business. It creates a clear and structured way for the Town to listen to local businesses, learn from their experiences, and work alongside them to take practical action that helps businesses stay, adapt, grow, and thrive while strengthening the community they call home.

How it works

Businesses share insights into their operations, future plans, and experience operating in Stony Plain through a confidential survey.

Participating businesses are invited to a collaborative workshop to identify shared opportunities, challenges, and priorities.

Insights from the survey and workshop inform the BR+E Survey Report and Action Plan, capturing shared priorities, insights, and actions from Stony Plain’s business community.

Actions are advanced through coordinated priorities and partnerships, with resulting initiatives and progress shared with Stony Plain’s business community.

Support is always available

Businesses can reach out to Economic Development at any time for support, questions, or conversations about their plans and priorities.

Who is the BR+E Program for

The BR+E Program is for businesses located and licensed within Stony Plain, of all sizes and stages, including those considering expansion, reinvestment, relocation, succession, sale, or closure.

A few things to know

Participation in the BR+E Program is voluntary.
Information shared through the BR+E Program is confidential and is reported in aggregate.
Time commitments are flexible and respectful of your schedule.
The BR+E Program operates on a recurring two-year cycle, allowing the Town and local businesses to reconnect regularly, collaborate on priorities, and respond to changing needs over time.
