Paving is underway today as part of the final stages of Downtown Redevelopment Phase III. All sidewalks have been poured and planters and benches have been completed.
Last October, the Town issued an Order against JJM Holdings Ltd. relating to the Sommerville Springs development.
Road construction is continuing. Weather and site conditions have set back the completion of the road.
The Town has completed the underground work for the future access road to St. John Paul II School.
Construction is moving along quickly; benches are being completed, crosswalks are being poured and stamped, curbs are being poured, sidewalks are going in and the last of the paving is happening followed by line painting. Sandblasting (sidewalk concrete design work) of Main Street (east side) is set to take place this Sunday.

In 2018, Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County met and worked together to brainstorm an approach bringing transit to the Tri-Municipal region. At last night’s Council Meeting, Council accepted the Tri- Municipal Region Transit update for information.
After our community experienced damages from flooding as a result of inclement weather this year, Administration has been researching storm rate models to account for the impacts of weather and aging infrastructure. After much deliberation and the comparing of approaches, Council has been presented with a proposal to move to a tiered flat fee model which would establish a more equitable distribution of full cost recovery.
