Road work is underway on the extention of 57 Avenue including preliminary grading and construction of the north storm water ditch. The future road will service the new Stony Plain Central school site.

Alberta Culture Days 2019 will take place from Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29. This province-wide celebration of arts, heritage, and culture will include a variety of activities and presentations at multiple locations in Stony Plain.
Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) aims to bring greater awareness to the community about the role of FCSS and how it supports families and individuals in all life stages. This fall the lunch and learn series looks at needs, key initiatives, campaigns and projects that drive the work FCSS does for our community.
This year’s theme for Suicide Prevention Week is “You are Tough Enough”: You are tough enough to get through another day, you are tough enough to speak out about mental health, you are tough enough to help someone struggling and you are tough enough to overcome the stigmas and taboos that surround suicide and mental health. .
The detour for the Highway 779 Road Closure from Highway 628 to Willow Park Road (south entrance) is now in effect. Willow Park Road is a residential area and not part of the detour route.

Electronic Utility Billing. For the last six months residents of Stony Plain have been encouraged, through a social media campaign, to sign up for their utility bill to be emailed as opposed to mailed to them.
Council approved $250,000 for a Storm Water Mitigation Project and $100,000 for a Sanitary Manhole Flooding Protection Retrofit Project. The decision follows the two major flooding events in Stony Plain this summer.
