Construction

The east walkway on Main Street directly in front of Dara’s Luxury Décor and Coffee Bar will be temporarily closed on Friday, August 30. Pedestrians may still access all businesses to the north of Dara’s from 51 Avenue.

Alberta Transportation has advised they will be paving portions of the intersection at Provincial Highway 779 (48 Street) and Highway 628 (79 Avenue) beginning today resulting in single lane, alternating traffic during the day. Temporary lane closures will take place along Highway 628 to accommodate construction of curb and gutter and the new channelized right turn lane.

Construction is set to begin on the underground servicing for the new Stony Plain school site next week. Residents will notice an increase in traffic along 57.

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town, the intersection of Hwy 628 (79 Ave) and Hwy 779 (48 St) will be down to one lane of alternating traffic on Monday July 15th and Tuesday July 16. th.

As Downtown Redevelopment construction continues, there are many updates to report. The Town has been working with Downtown businesses to promote local shopping.

Paving of 41 Avenue at Heritage Park is now complete. The road is open to all traffic.

Roadway Reconstruction on 49th Street from 44th Avenue to Rotary Park has been delayed due to inclement weather.

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town they will be paving the southern portion of Hwy 779 from the Town limits to just south of Hwy 628 (79 Ave). Traffic will be reduced to one way for most of the day.
