Joint Trail Connection

Stony Plain and Spruce Grove are developing a joint trail connection, linking the two municipalities.

The project has two significant trail sections serving as pathways for commuting residents of both the Town of Stony Plain and the City of Spruce Grove:

  • North of 16A: A trail connecting Veterans Blvd to Boundary Road, running north/south along Boundary Road.
  • South of 16A: This section runs east-west, connecting Veterans Blvd to Campsite Road.

The Joint Trail Connection project unfolds through three phases:

 Phase I
The Town of Stony Plain and the City of Spruce Grove successfully completed Phase I, laying down the foundation with the joint trail connection north of 16A along Boundary Road.
 Phase II
The joint trail connection south of 16A, near the intersections of Veterans Blvd and Campsite Road. This was started in late 2023 and is anticipated to be completed by the fall of 2024.
 Phase III
Paving and the final segment of the southern trail, weaving through the wetland area between the two intersections, is anticipated to be completed by the fall of 2024.
