 Placemaking Grant Program
The Town of Stony Plain Placemaking Grant Program is a community building initiative aimed at supporting community-led projects that enhance public spaces in the Old Town area. As part of the Town’s Old Town South Redevelopment Project, the Grant Program aims to encourage small-scale placemaking projects that will contribute to creating a unique sense of place and community in the Old Town area while furthering the goals of the Old Town Community Plan (OTCP).

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to the following applicant types:

  • Individual community members
  • Local businesses
  • Community organizations
  • Not-for-profit organizations

 Façade Improvement Program

Stony Plain’s Façade Improvement Program (FIP) offers grants to improve commercial building facades and storefronts throughout the town, with a focus on the Old Town area. The program provides an incentive to undertake building upgrades that will create more interesting and appealing streetscapes that attract people and businesses to the community.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to the following applicant types:

  • Commercial property owners
  • Business owners

 Community Initiatives
 We offer funding opportunities to groups that provide a benefit to Stony Plain residents and encourage:
  • Arts and culture
  • Sports and recreation
  • Community support and development

Eligibility

Your group must be charitable, not-for-profit or volunteer based or apply to host a not-for-profit or charitable event.

  • The event program or activity must take place in Stony Plain
  • You must provide budget information
  • Your event must be free, or fundraising

Financial Aid

Recreation without barriers

Recreation promotes personal health and wellness, leadership, and inclusion.

KidSport Parkland

KidSport is a national not for profit organization whose mandate is to remove financial barriers that prevent some young people from participating in sports. KidSport Parkland serves residents of Stony Plain, Spruce Grove and Parkland County.

Supporting Our Youth

Century 21 Leading of Spruce Grove is proud to provide the Supporting Our Youth Program. This program provides financial assistance to children in need in the areas of education scholarships and cultural and recreational projects, with a view to promote the mental, physical, and social well-being and development of these children.

Wishing you Wellness

The Wishing You Wellness Program is a partnered program with the Tri-Leisure Centre, funded by the Wishing Wells around our community. This is a subsidized program for community members wanting to attend the Tri-Leisure Centre but who may require financial assistance to do so. To date, the program has helped over 500 individuals and families.

Jumpstart

Jumpstart is about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate in sports as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Jumpstart is a national charity with a commitment to local communities.

Individuals or groups who live and/or train in Stony Plain are eligible. We review each Achievement Recognition Nomination Form.
