Shikaoi Exchange Program

Since 1985, the Town of Stony Plain and Shikaoi, Japan, have shared a sister town relationship built on cultural exchange and friendship. The Shikaoi Exchange Program continues to strengthen this bond through key programs: the Student Exchange, Host Families, the Long Stay Volunteer, and the Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) Program. These programs provide opportunities for residents to connect, experience each other’s cultures, and build lasting relationships between the two communities.
