The Municipal Historic Resources Policy encourages the designation and conservation of historic resources in the town of Stony Plain. Historic resources can include built structures, objects, cultural spaces, or land in Stony Plain that is primarily valued for its local history, architecture, urban context, and integrity.
An annual matching grant to a maximum of $5000 may be available yearly for up to four years to the owner of a Municipal Designated Historic Resource.
The Town of Stony Plain believes historic resources are integral in providing a sense of identity and place both for visitors and more importantly, for local citizens. Historic buildings, streetscapes and greenspace in the town of Stony Plain provide a tangible connection to the past and serve as a testament to the passage of time, reminding us of our collective history.
