Downtown has a new look! A new series of banners are being installed along Main Street and the intersections of 50 to 53 Avenue to celebrate the completion of downtown and showcase the spirit of Stony Plain.
The Town of Stony Plain is excited to announce the grand opening of its new downtown. A community celebration featuring family-friendly activities, food trucks, and entertainment will take place on May 19 from 5PM to 8PM.
The Stony Plain Fire Department is investigating a house fire following an early morning blaze. Crews responded to the fire at 5:46AM.
Stony Plain housing starts point toward strong growth for the municipality in 2022. First quarter residential construction comprised of 62 housing starts, including 13 single-detached dwellings and 49 high-density dwellings with a combined estimated construction value of $13. 1 million.
The Dementia Connections Project is returning for another year of supporting residents in Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County. The program provides support and community-based programming to people living with dementia and their care partners.
Updates to Land Use Bylaw Make Way for Stony Plain’s New Housing Strategy. A public hearing for the Land Use Bylaw was held at last night’s Council Meeting.
Culture and Tourism Annual Update. Growing Stony Plain’s cultural economy is a key priority for Council.
The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CanFR) has been awarded to the Town of Stony Plain by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 2020 Annual Report. The CanFR Program was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports.
