    The Town of Stony Plain invites local residents, businesses, and clubs to show community pride by participating in a bridge painting project. .

  • Highway 779 Road Closure - UPDATE

    UPDATE 08-09-2019:. Alberta Transportation has just notified the Town that they will not be closing Highway 779 (48 Street) to Willow Park Road (South entrance) this coming Monday, August 12.

  • CN Overnight Railway Crossing Maintenance

    CN signs have been placed on both Veterans Boulevard and Golf Course Road advising of rail crossing closures from 8pm on August 7 to 8am on August 8. Please use alternate routes during this time.

  • Nominations Open for Ambassador of Action Award and Award of Creative Excellence

    The Town of Stony Plain is now accepting nominations for two awards: the Ambassador of Action Business Award and the Award of Creative Excellence. Both awards will be presented at the Stony Plain and District Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet on November 1.

  • Historic Stony Plain Short Film set to Premiere at Outdoor Movie

    The Town will be premiering the Stony Plain Short film project, “Israel Umbach and the Little Settlement That Could” at this year’s Outdoor Movie on August 15 at Heritage Park. The short-film depicts the noble story of the Town’s iconic sheriff and tax collector, Israel Umbach, chaining a Canadian Northern Railway train to its tracks for unpaid taxes.

  • Temporary Walkway Closure

    The east walkway on Main Street directly in front of Dara’s Luxury Décor and Coffee Bar will be temporarily closed on Friday, August 30. Pedestrians may still access all businesses to the north of Dara’s from 51 Avenue.
