  • TELUS PureFibre Construction Begins

    TELUS PureFibre® construction will begin on September 13 in the Forest Green neighbourhood, on September 20 in Woodlands and Southridge and on October 4 in Fairways. The scope of construction will encompass shallow utility installation in the Utility Right of Way in front of homes as well as on private properties (with permission from property owners).

    Celebrate cultural diversity and heritage with Alberta Culture Days! Residents are invited to join in on the month of cultural celebration, programs, and a weekend of events coming to Stony Plain on September 24 through to September 26.

  • Downtown Redevelopment Update - September 2

    Paving and concrete work will begin next week. Barricades will be in place from September 9-17.

  • Golf Course Road Construction Update – September 2

    Crews have completed all asphalt work. Line marking will be done when weather allows.

  • Highway 779 Update - September 1

    Alberta Transportation has informed the town that on Tuesday September 7, 48 Street will be closed to both north and southbound traffic from the north side of 49 to 47 Avenue between the hours of 8:00 a. m. and 4:00 p. m.

  • Golf Course Road Construction Update – August 26

    Paving on Golf Course Road is almost complete. Crews are expected to finish the road this weekend.

  • Highway 779 Update - August 26

    Alberta Transportation has informed the Town that night paving will take place on 48 Street between 55 and 49 Avenue on Friday, August 27, Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29 (if necessary). Hours of operation will be between 6:00 p. m.

  • Highway 779 and 49 Avenue Intersection Closure Update - August 24

    Alberta Transportation has provided the following important update to the Town on the Highway 779 construction project. The 49 Avenue intersection closure will need to be extended until the end of Wednesday, August 24 to fully complete work in the area.

    While COVID has grabbed headlines, there is another public health crisis happening in our community that far fewer people are willing to talk about – suicide. In Stony Plain and the Tri-Region, suicide has claimed the lives of people young and old, from diverse backgrounds and across socio-economic lines and has left a lasting impact on many others.
