2025 Municipal Election Results

Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town that they will be closing Provincial Hwy 779 (48 Street) between Hwy 628 (79 Avenue) and Willow Park Road (South entrance) for approximately three weeks, beginning Tuesday, August 20. Traffic will be detoured East on Hwy 628 to Golf Course Road, North on Golf Course Road to 49 Avenue and then West on 49 Avenue back to Hwy 779.
Main Street, from 54 Avenue to 53 Avenue, will be closed for night paving on Monday, August 19. The closure will begin at 7:00 p. m.
The temporary path from the Willow Park Subdivision to St. John Paul II School is permanently closed for construction of the new access road.

UPDATE 08-09-2019:. Alberta Transportation has just notified the Town that they will not be closing Highway 779 (48 Street) to Willow Park Road (South entrance) this coming Monday, August 12.
CN signs have been placed on both Veterans Boulevard and Golf Course Road advising of rail crossing closures from 8pm on August 7 to 8am on August 8. Please use alternate routes during this time.
The Town of Stony Plain is now accepting nominations for two awards: the Ambassador of Action Business Award and the Award of Creative Excellence. Both awards will be presented at the Stony Plain and District Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet on November 1.
Timelines for the Downtown Redevelopment project have been impacted by the tremendous amount of rain this summer. At present, the project is approximately 20 days behind the originally projected schedule.
