Regular Council Meeting Highlights for April 26, 2021. Public Tree Bylaw Receives Update.
The development of a Regional Recreation Centre in Stony Plain is moving forward. Council has approved proceeding to the detailed design of a recreational facility to be located at the Glenn Hall Arena site in Old Town South.
Major construction work continues on 49 Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one way only (alternating) and construction will continue until June 4.
The Town of Stony Plain’s 2019 Annual Report has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for their Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CanFR). This is the ninth consecutive year the Town has received the award.
Town Welcomes New Tourism Master Plan. Stony Plain has a new Tourism Master Plan in place.
The 2021 Destination Guide is here! This year’s Destination Guide can be picked up from the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office during regular business hours.
A Sommerville development update will be presented at tonight’s Regular Council Meeting. The update is anticipated to cover the Sommerville Residential Neighbourhood, Sommerville Springs, and Sommerville Gate developments.

The Strategic Plan provides a clear framework for the Town to operate utilizing evidence-based decision-making processes when considering service provision and financial commitments related to municipal partnership, local economic resilience, community development, and sustainability of the local, diverse ecosystem.
