2025 Municipal Election Results

After being delayed due to COVID-19, the Large Item Drop Off is coming to Stony Plain on September 19 and September 20 from 9AM – 4PM. The event will take place at the Public Works yard in town and dropping off items will come at no cost to residents.
The Stony Plain Fire Department is excited to announce the unveiling of a Memorial Bench at the east entrance of the Fire Hall this weekend. The bench is a project spearheaded by members of the Fire Hall in memory of those no longer with us.
Alberta Transportation (AT) is moving forward with the Highway 779 project with placement and compaction of the granular base in the back lane between 54 Avenue and 52 Avenue. The granular base is set to be finished by the end of day.

Work continues on Alberta Transportation’s Highway 779 construction project. The intersection at 53 Avenue was reopened to traffic on Tuesday, September 1 in the evening and the intersection at 55 Avenue was closed to traffic the following morning.
Paving has been completed on the access road between Willow Park Road North and the St. John Paul II School and traffic signs installed.
Alberta Culture Days is making its annual return to town. This year, the province-wide festivities will run throughout the month of September.
Big block parties may not be possible but Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is hoping you will pick up a pack of cards from one of our participating partner locations, write a message of appreciation and deliver them to your special neighbours on September 19, 2020. It’s all about recognizing our neighbours are our greatest assets!
Beginning the evening of Sunday, October 4, Main Street north of 52 Avenue up to the temporary turnaround will be closed for paving. The closure is expected to remain until Friday, October 9 (weather dependent).
Alberta Transportation (AT) has informed the Town Highway 779 construction has been delayed due to heavy rainfall last week. Paving operations have been pushed back to Thursday (August 27) and Friday (August 28).
