September 30 marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Town of Stony Plain is committed to reconciliation and ensuring the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools is never forgotten.

Alberta Transportation has provided the following update on the Highway 779 construction project. Crews completed paving the final lift of asphalt on the project on Tuesday, September 7.
Paving begins Friday, September 10. .
Get your papers ready for the return of Shred-It. On September 25, Residents will be able to bring boxes of papers to the Rotary Recycling Centre for shredding and safe disposal.
TELUS PureFibre® construction will begin on September 13 in the Forest Green neighbourhood, on September 20 in Woodlands and Southridge and on October 4 in Fairways. The scope of construction will encompass shallow utility installation in the Utility Right of Way in front of homes as well as on private properties (with permission from property owners).
Celebrate cultural diversity and heritage with Alberta Culture Days! Residents are invited to join in on the month of cultural celebration, programs, and a weekend of events coming to Stony Plain on September 24 through to September 26.
Paving and concrete work will begin next week. Barricades will be in place from September 9-17.
Crews have completed all asphalt work. Line marking will be done when weather allows.
