Downtown Redevelopment. Council accepted an update on the Downtown Redevelopment Project.
At last night’s G & P Council meeting, Council learned about changes to the Town’s recycling program and the educational communications plan. .
MLA Erin Babcock announced a $6-million contribution to an affordable housing project to be located in Stony Plain. Mayor Choy and Councillor Judy Bennett along with Lori-Anne St.
The Town of Stony Plain is excited to recognize the completion of the support received from the Stony Plain Lions Club. The Club committed $60,000 towards the MV1 HandiVan which was purchased in 2016 to replace an old unit.
Every April, the Stony Plain and Spruce Grove & District Chambers of Commerce partner to host the Tri-Municipal Expo. This 3-day event is an opportunity for the Town of Stony Plain to network with residents, stakeholders, and community partners.
Award for 2017 Annual Report. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Town’s Corporate Services department the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.
Poet Laureate Lisa Mulrooney addresses Council for the first time at the Governance and Priorities Meeting Monday night. This officially launched her tenure as Stony Plain’s Poet Laureate.
MDP Update. Town Council received information on the update of the Municipal Development Plan.
During tonight’s Regular Meeting, Stony Plain Council accepted an update on the Town’s Advocacy Strategy. Advocacy with regional partners and other levels of government is one of the tools used to manage external factors with the potential to impact the Town’s ability to achieve strategic priorities.
For the first time in history, Stony Plain will be hosting a Poet Laureate – a cultural and literary ambassador, a champion for poetry, and representative through original works that reflect on our community and life. Stony Plain’s Poet Laureate will be the 6.
