  • Temporary Road Closure

    Main Street, from 51 to 52 Avenue will be temporarily closed November 12 and 13 for most of the day to accommodate concrete pouring at the new downtown library/Three Robins construction project. Detours will be in effect.

  • Highway 779 Update November 7

    Alberta Transportation has completed all repairs and clean up of the Highway 779 construction zone and shut down for the winter. There are two lanes in each direction open from 57 Avenue to Willow Park Road (north entrance), where it transitions from four lanes to two lanes to the south.

  • Town Announces Development of Municipal Cemetery

    In 2016, a community survey indicated the need for cemetery services in Stony Plain. As a result of this public input, the municipal cemetery project is officially entering the first phase of planning and design.

  • Main Street Opens Tomorrow

    The fence surrounding Phase III of Downtown Redevelopment will be coming down tomorrow morning and Main Street will be fully open to traffic in the afternoon. Street lights and bollards still need to be completed and may require partial road closures for these installations.

  • Adele Lapointe Honoured with 2019 Town of Stony Plain Matthew Claus Award

    This year’s Matthew Claus Award was received by Adele Lapointe at the Town of Stony Plain Long Service Awards and Recognition Banquet. Lapointe is a Development Officer for The Town and has been a dedicated team member for 25 years.

  • Dog Rump Creek Music Two-Steps to First for Award of Creative Excellence

    The community has spoken and this year’s Stony Plain Award of Creative Excellence (ACE) has been awarded to Dog Rump Creek Music. Founders Tannis and Jazz Matthews made their way on stage at the Stony Plain and District Chamber of Commerce Awards Night to accept the award.

  • Downtown Redevelopment Update October 31

    Paving is underway today as part of the final stages of Downtown Redevelopment Phase III. All sidewalks have been poured and planters and benches have been completed.
