Any given day of the week, the Stony Plain Youth Centre (SPYC) is an active hub where the youth of Stony Plain and Parkland County gather to learn new skills or just hang out with friends. This safe place for all youth was required to close the doors suddenly on March 16th to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Recognizing that neighbours are our most powerful resource, Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is launching a Neighbourhood Connect project to support, inspire and further connect neighbours and neighbourhoods. .
COVID-19 is creating uncertainty in our community and residents may feel worried and isolated. In response, Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is launching Caring Hearts Connection to assist residents in Stony Plain and Parkland County to navigate supports and services during this crisis.
Overview. The Alberta Government is providing $30 million to municipalities, charitable and non-profit organizations to provide help to individuals, seniors, families and other vulnerable Albertans who are isolated or impacted by measures to contain COVID-19.
Mayor’s Task Force on COVID-19. Mayor William Choy announced the formation of the Mayor’s Task Force on COVID-19 to address the current and upcoming issues faced by our community as a result of the global pandemic.

Update March 13:. The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce has postponed this event until further notice due to COVID - 19.
Today, the Regional Transit Services Commission (RTSC) Transition Team confirmed they have the participation needed to move forward with an application to the Government of Alberta to form a new transit commission. Following the release of a business case in late January, the individual councils of all 13 Edmonton Metropolitan Region municipalities voted, throughout February and into March, on their decision to participate.
Town of Stony Plain Receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting. The 2018 Annual Report was recognized by the Government of Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for their Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CanFR).
